Cygnet Pericon and STB Systems Ltd conducted a seminar titled LKPBU (Laporan Kantor Pusat Bank Umum) and Beyond.

The seminar which was held at Ritz Carlton Hotel Jakarta on Tuesday, 25th July 2006 introduced a solution for automation on LKPBU reporting to Bank Indonesia.

C. Hendra Suhartanto as the Managing Director of PT. Cygnet Pericon shared information on LKPBU requirements to more than 40 people from more than 15 banks. LKPBU reporting requirements is introduced by BI in 2006. Banks now have to develop or purchase solutions to support this additional requirement and it therefore represents an opportunity for banks to acquire a modern solution to cater for this and the other Bank Indonesia reporting. Most banks in Indonesia currently satisfy BI regulatory reporting through a variety of bespoke solutions. There are limitations with this approach, making it difficult and costly to upgrade when significant changes to the requirements occur and there are also frequently many manual adjustments that need to be applied.

The keynote speaker of the seminar was Michael Thomas, the CEO of STB Systems Ltd. Michael discussed the best practices of regulatory reporting and its future trend. A presentation was also given by John Heaps as the Regional Operations Manager of STB Systems who gave a demonstration of the solution.

STB-Reporter for BI reporting provides a flexible and controlled environment from which to report data to Bank Indonesia and a permanent record of returns submitted. The system can be used in Stand-alone mode, to allow for manual input of pre-computed numbers, in direct allocation mode, for the automated input of pre-computed return numbers from the source systems that have calculated them, and as a complete end to end solution, taking underlying transaction and account information directly from multiple source systems and performing all of the necessary BI computations, completing the returns and creating the outputs required for BI submission. Client can choose to include only the new LKPBU reporting requirement or all BI returns, or indeed, may wish to combine different levels around their branch and regional offices to satisfy the requirements in a distributed solution that then consolidates all information within the head office implementation. Whatever level of initial solution implemented at the client, it is possible to upgrade to higher levels of solution at a later date.
